World Championships marathoner Tobias Sauter injured

German Marathon runner Tobias Sauter, who ran far under his possibilities in the Berlin World Championships marathon was already injured in the race in the German capital. Two weeks before the marathon Sauter started to get problems and a MRI that was taken now in the university hospital Tübingen revealed that the semimembranosus muscle is ruptured and a disc prostrution with several edema in the thigh muscles exists.

A training break of several weeks is needed and even an operation might be required.

Tobias Sauter has a PB of 2:17:27h (Düsseldorf 2008) and placed 66th with a time of 2:35:43h in the IAAF World Championships 2009 in Berlin.
