30th “Rund um das Bayerkreuz” 10K road run results in Leverkusen, 13.03.2011

The course records in both the mens and womens category were lowered in great conditions at the 30th edition at the race around the Bayer-Kreuz.
In the mens race, Kenyan Pius Maiyo Kirop improved the time of Christoph Herle (GER), who ran 28:24min in 1985. The new record is now at 28:16min. As the strongest German male, Stefan Koch came back with a good performance in 4th place. His time of 29:23 proves that he is in shape again and will surely be amongst the strongest German marathoners in 2011.
In the womens race Sabrina Mockenhaupt ran 32:22min despite a nasty flu. The previous course record was set two years ago by Susanne Hahn (GER/32:28min).
